‘Hi, I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard about this on the radio today…..too funny!
I had to email all my girlfriends with the website just in case they hadn’t heard about it. I like the rules, especially the one about ‘no ketchup or sour cream containers on the table’.
Thanks for the good laugh!

‘Hi there! I wanted you to know how well ‘Men Make Dinner Day’ paid off. Hubby came home from work and made us ‘shepherds pie’…..He did it all on his own and no questions asked! I think that had a lot to do with all the harassing he got at work. I made sure I informed everyone there what he had to do…..But it did go off without a hitch.
I will have to mark this on my calendar for every year…..thanks!!!

Hi! I heard about National Men Make Dinner Day on KGCB, 90.0 FM, Prescott Arizona. My husband and I enjoyed your site. He actually is, this very minute, making dinner. Its one of those dinner kits – you know, a couple of cans of salty stew, plus a processed flour topping. He gets no points for originality, but I’m truly grateful anyway. I hope the radio station starts promoting it a little earlier next year, so I remember to nag…uh, I mean, remind him to buy real ingredients, and maybe even d-e-s-s-e-r-t!

Thank you for representing this glorious day. You might have just saved our marriage! My husband prepared a pork chop in mushroom sauce, spinatelli, mashed potatoes, broccoli, rosemary baguette, cantelope and white wine.
Big hopes for another dining experience presented by my husband, hopefully before next November.
Thank you again!

Dear Sandy: thank you so much for such a great idea. I actually was able to convince my husband Steve of this ‘special day’. He really did make me dinner tonight (and cleaned up afterwards), which in our 16 years of marriage, I don’t think he has ever attempted such a task.
I printed out a copy of the rules the night before. He actually read the rules and, for the most part, stuck to them with a few exceptions (yes, there was a ketchup bottle on the table).
I must say, dinner was excellent and I look forward to next year!

I have to let you know how my ‘Men Make Dinner Day’ went. I never expected that my husband would ‘get the hint’. After all, he was raised by a mother who couldn’t bear to let her dear son lift a finger in the house. Well, what a surprise I got! My husband called me at work to tell me to pick him up at the grocery store, rather than the office. It turns out he had taken recipe books to work, picked out what he wanted to make and then went grocery shopping!
Dinner was amazing! Darrin made herbed chicken in tomato sauce, served on linguini with garlic bread. The recipe required broiling, sautéing, and simmering! Not easy for an inexperienced chef. To top it all off, he even did the dishes. I’m still in shock!
Darrin has racked up some serious points. Could you imagine the points they would get if they did this on other days of the year?
